Mechanical Engineering Internship to assist in Development of Gear-driven Consumer Product

Note: this is an unpaid, remote internship

About this Job

Black Cat company (currently a subsidiary of GURU Adventure Travel) is looking for a part-time intern to help with gear design and integration into a new consumer product being developed. The product is for outdoor use and may live in the cleantech space.

Currently seeking part-time or full-time interns for fall, winter, spring or summer internships.

We may be working with established mechanical engineering firms, prototyping companies, incubators & accelerators, & various manufacturers & suppliers, so future employment and networking contacts are potential opportunities for high performing interns.

We will work with each intern to craft a learning plan that benefits the intern and the company, utilizing your current skills and expanding your knowledge and abilities. This is a great opportunity to work on a variety of high impact projects and see immediate, tangible results.

Potential Internship Responsibilities depending on role/skill set:

*assist with gear set evaluation, identification, creation, iteration, and optimization.

*assist with 2D & 3D drawings of gear set options

*assist with 2D & 3D design of product body around gear sets

*assist with 2D & 3D drawings of product parts

*identify and develop relationships with start-up support organizations, potential student support for product development, potential incubator/accelerator involvement, prototype services, manufacturing services, and other supply chain support options

Internship Requirements:

* Gear engineering experience highly desirable

*3D design software capabilities highly desirable

* Positive attitude and ability to be proactive

* Outstanding verbal and written communication skill

* Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail

* Interest in working in a socially responsible, consumer- focused start-up environment

*For this role we will hire both local and remote interns

Digital Alloys Internship Opportunities

Check out this exciting opportunity for both undergraduate and graduate students in mechanical and electrical engineering at Digital Alloys, Inc. Digital Alloys is a metal 3D printing startup developing a new technology called Joule Printing. It is a company of only 25 employees which means each person has a direct impact on company success.

We are looking for interns to work on all things mechanical and/or electrical on the machine we are developing.
