Volunteer at this Year’s Expanding Your Horizons Conference

Would you like to volunteer your time to help the next generation get as excited about math and science as you are?

Expanding Your Horizons (EYH) is a conference for 7th-9th grade girls designed to introduce them to amazing math and science experiences and give them access to great role models. Over 500 girls will be participating in this year’s conference and each one will attend 2-3 hands-on workshops that have been developed by Cornell graduate students and faculty. The conference will be held on Saturday April 27th, 2019. More information about EYH can be found at https://www.eyh.cornell.edu.

We have many great opportunities for you to get involved. Please consider helping for this great event! All volunteers receive a free EYH T-shirt to be worn the day of the conference, as well as free breakfast, lunch, and afternoon reception!

EYH Buddies accompany girls without an adult chaperone on the day of the conference. This allows a much wider diversity of girls to participate and gives them the added benefit of close contact with a potentially great role model. Because EYH is a conference for girls, we are looking for buddies who can represent the experience of women in STEM fields and act as role models for the girls attending the conference. Please contact CornellEYHbuddies@gmail.com if you have any questions about your eligibility to be a buddy. Note: Buddies must be able to attend the entire conference (8:00 am-5:00 pm).

General volunteers are also needed to help direct girls and their parents around campus, help set up the event, and with other important and fun tasks. General volunteers can be any gender and do not need to stay the entire day!

If you would like to sign up to be a buddy or volunteer, please go to our Registration Form and submit your registration: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSewI3Q-yYprzw8644LEL1eSgqsvJjQy7ZImqMJ2OPYXoXYPTQ/viewform

Please let us know if you have any trouble accessing the form, if you have questions about EYH, or if there is anything else that we can help you with. You can reach us at CornellEYHbuddies@gmail.com or CornellEYHvolunteers@gmail.com.
