Teaching Focus

Professor Loeb participates in the undergraduate major in viticulture and enology, co-teaching a course on grape pest management (cross listed as ENT, PLPA, and VIEN 3200). His emphasis is on grape entomology. This is an integrated course that combines insect and disease management with spray technology. The emphasis is on providing practical knowledge that will help prepare students for the real world of viticulture. See this link below for more information on course objectives.

Professor Loeb also participates in a field oriented summer course offered for graduate students in entomology and plant pathology (agricultural applications of plant health concepts: ENT, PLPA 4190), as well as undergraduate summer interns at NYSAES in Geneva, focused on an introduction to pest management issues related to NY agriculture. He leads the one-day course on grape pest management.
