Guidelines for landscape approaches to conservation, production and development in the Congo Basin Forests
A four-page case study specifies 27 Guidelines, framed around six Principles, and four Overarching Considerations of a landscape approach. The so-called Sangha Guidelines emerged from a workshop held in the Tri National de la Sangha, a landscape recognized under the Congo Basin Forest Partnership which includes the protected areas and production forests that come together where Congo, Cameroon, and Central Africa Republic meet along the Sangha River. The process and the Guidelines were documented by leadership of IUCN’s Livelihoods and Landscapes Initiative.
