Biography

Tim began graduate studies at Cornell in Fall 2011 and joined the Micro/Nanofluidics Laboratory in December 2011. He received his B.S. in mechanical engineering from Tufts University in May 2011 for which he completed a thesis on the mechanics of reciprocating sawing of bone for orthopedic surgery. As an undergraduate, he also developed and taught a course entitled “Modeling Alternative Energy: Engineering for Non-Engineers” in which arts and science undergrads used LEGO bricks to construct an off-the-grid city.

Current Projects

Tim is currently developing estimation methods associated with an image processing technique for fluorescent microscope images of cells to aid in cancer diagnosis. He is also working on experimental methods to measure the electrical properties of cancer cells.
