Cornell wins $13M NIH Cancer center

A Cornell team led by Harold Craighead and including Professor Kirby was recently awarded a $13M grant to form a physical sciences-oncology center (the Center on the Microenvironment and Metastasis) in collaboration with Weill Cornell Medical Center.  The center, one of twelve receiving awards from the National Cancer Institute, is organized around the theme of understanding the interaction of mechanical forces and chemical cues in cancer metastasis. Kirbylab will participate as part of our continuing interest in capture of circulating tumor cells.
