On-Farm Research

On-farm research conducted in grower orchards and vegetable fields contributes to a base of production knowledge for farmers throughout the Hudson Valley. Growers providing support by allowing researchers to study pest management in commercial fruit and vegetable blocks, often in a ‘put out the fire’ trial when pest populations have exploded, gives scientists a commercial farm perspective for management under worst case growing conditions. Growers receive the benefit of first hand experience in the research results under replicated plot or large block experimental conditions.

Listed below are farms that supported the Hudson Valley Research Laboratory with on farm research tudies in 2013.
