Cornell Fruit Pest Control Field Day: HVRL Friday September 6th, 8:30 am.

HVRL Entomology Staff

The Cornell Fruit Pest Control Field Day at the Hudson Valley Research Laboratory will be this Friday, September 6th, is open to consultants, agrichemical industry representatives, University faculty and staff.

Registration, coffee, etc., will begin in the conference room of the HVRL at 8:30 am.

Weather permitting, the tour will proceed to the orchards to view plots and preliminary data from field trials involving new fungicides, bactericides, miticides, and insecticides on tree fruit.

We expect the tour of field plots will be completed before noon.

No pre-registration is required for either event.

Peter J. Jentsch serves the mid-Hudson Valley pome fruit, grape and vegetable growers as the Senior Extension Associate in the Department of Entomology for Cornell University’s Hudson Valley Laboratory located in Highland, NY. He provides regional farmers with information on insect related research conducted on the laboratory’s 20-acre research farm for use in commercial and organic fruit and vegetable production. Peter is a graduate of the University of Nebraska with a Masters degree in Entomology. He is presently focusing on invasive insect species, monitoring in the urban environment and commercial agricultural production systems throughout the state
