Please join us for the 2019 Cornell Storage Workshop August 8, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in Stocking Hall, Cornell University campus, Ithaca, NY.

In addition to the Cornell team, we will have presentations by Jim Mattheis (USDA, Washington) and Jennifer DeEll (Ontario Ministry of Agriculture and Food, Canada), Dumitru Macarisin, (Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition, U.S. Food and Drug Administration), Jim Schaefer (Storage Control Systems), Vega Brink (Gas At Site), Parama Sikdar (DECCO) and David Felicetti (PACE).

Topics will include issues such as DCA and food safety, and review of storage recommendations, and varieties such as Gala and Honeycrisp, especially in relation to disorders and quality control.

About Peter J Jentsch

Peter J. Jentsch serves the mid-Hudson Valley pome fruit, grape and vegetable growers as the Senior Extension Associate in the Department of Entomology for Cornell University’s Hudson Valley Laboratory located in Highland, NY. He provides regional farmers with information on insect related research conducted on the laboratory’s 20-acre research farm for use in commercial and organic fruit and vegetable production. Peter is a graduate of the University of Nebraska with a Masters degree in Entomology. He is presently focusing on invasive insect species, monitoring in the urban environment and commercial agricultural production systems throughout the state
