About
The Office of the CIO, in concert with the IT Governance Council, is launching a process to develop an IT Strategic Plan for Cornell University focused on the next five years (2012-2017).
The IT strategic plan will build on previous studies and recommendations, reflect IT goals and needs from all campus constituencies, and define the way forward for IT@Cornell through 2017. The IT strategic plan will set forth a broad campus vision for information technology over the next five years (2012-2017). Strategic priorities identified in the plan will guide capital and operating budget priorities, technology directions, and will also inform professional and career development plans for IT staff.
The collaborative process to develop the IT Strategic Plan includes:
- A Senior Advisory Group to oversee the broad process and development of the IT Strategic Plan.
- Working groups to aid in the development process. These working groups are focusing on the different aspects of the Strategic Plan (Teaching & Learning, Research & Scholarship, Student Experience, and IT Service Excellence) to develop IT objectives, priorities and direction.
- Questions of the Week (on this blog). The entire Cornell community is invited to respond.
- Opportunity to comment on IT Strategic Plan seed materials and drafts (on this blog). Again, the entire Cornell community is invited to respond.
