Black cutworm and True armyworm
There has been intense catches for black cutworm and true armyworm with our field corn pheromone trapping network in western NY. If you view the live map of our current catches you can see what each location has been caught across the state. Alfalfa Weevil
There have been a few reports of alfalfa weevil starting to feed on leaflets. As the weather starts to warm alfalfa weevil activity will pick up. Alfalfa Weevil adults will be laying eggs about now. Cereal Leaf Beetle
Cereal leaf beetle adults have been found in a few fields in western NY. They will be laying eggs on small grains soon. Adult beetles have a nice metallic colorful appearance if you are out scouting.
