In class, we went over the basic mechanics of the Page Rank algorithm and it was easy to see how this system could be exploited. Page Rank is certainly a very useful method of maintaining a search engine that will yield the best results for any given search but it certainly is not the best. The use and dependence of links creates paths for people to exploit the system and give some pages unfair advantages over others. Future algorithms would be better off with a more balanced structure to the weight of certain factors and how they go into the final rankings.
