The current state of American politics is more divided than ever. Following this past year’s election, which was one of the most controversial to date, it has become nearly impossible for the American people to reach consensus on national issues. The article, titled “A Game-Theory Solution For a Fractured America,” examines the fact that there is no such thing as removing one side from the equation, and that we will always need each other in order to succeed as a nation.

The article discusses how important Republican and Democratic areas in the United States are to America’s economy and society. For one, the article discusses statistics on the minority populations, as well as white fertility rates, and the results show that there is an even split between white and non-white populations. The article also discusses how Democratic-dominated cities, which account for more than 2/3 of the U.S. economy, will not go away anytime soon, and rural counties are also vital to American’s natural resources.

In conclusion, this article is recommending a cooperative solution to our nation’s divided state. In class, we learned about game theory and it’s importance in achieving equilibrium. This article directly applies this concept to the political climate and recommends that we accept our differences and internalize that neither side is going anywhere. This way, we can arrive at a more effective and long-term solution.
