Military Communication System

The website above is a link to a long paper on Air Force Communication systems and projected future capabilities and limitations. The Article doesn’t have a strong tie to the class other than it’s a communications network. It is kind of interesting though because if you look at the above picture you start to understand the strength of networks and how one node can affect other far beyond those nodes directly connected to them. For example, someone in the Air Force could be one of the nodes shown in the United States. Through their connection to communications satellite they have access to sensory satellites, which then could show a need for support at the theater of operations. That information flows from the original node to the processing centers, which launch an air plane in response to need in the theater of operation. This airplane is controlled through a communication satellite, which is connected to other communications satellites. One of these satellites is connected back to the ground in the United States where a person is flying a plane by remote back in the theater of operation. It’s also interesting to note that examples similar to this happen every day. The reason I posted this picture was to show a small network that literally covers the in tire earth.
