Two of my working papers, co-authored with Rob Clark, on a recent Québec gasoline cartel antitrust case were accepted today!
The first one looks at the collapse the cartels after the announcement of the Competitive Bureau investigation in 2006. It is now forthcoming at the Journal of Industrial Economics.
The second one studies communication and transfer patterns within the cartel between 2002 and 2006. It focuses on the timing of price changes, and how more effiicient retailers were able to extract larger market shares by increasing their price after the core cartel members. It is now forthcoming at the American Economic Journal: Microeconomics.
