Education Intern, Anti-Defamation League

Position Description: The New York State Capital Office of the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), a satellite office of ADL New York/New Jersey, is in search of an intern for the full academic year (Fall & Spring Semesters). This is a mostly remote and paid position with requirements to assist with several in-person events during the school year. There is a physical office space available in Albany, NY if the applicant prefers to work in-person. This internship position is open to students enrolled in a higher education institution within New York State that is in Upstate NY (above Rockland County) OR students who have previously participated in programs led by the New York State Capital Office of ADL (formally ADL Albany).


Break Through Undergraduate Fellow

Position Description: Break Through Teaching Fellows learn to be classroom teachers through professionally designed training and continued support from Instructional Coaches and professional staff. They also get to develop leadership through planning community events and projects. This opportunity is open to all majors.

Education Department Intern

Position Description: The Education Department Intern will work alongside our talented team of professional educators to facilitate programs for young learners and learners of all ages! The person in this role will engage with the public by inspiring and inviting them into the Work at Grace Farms, as well as share the mission of Grace Farms through daily programming and pop-up activities. By participating in this internship opportunity, you will be honing your public speaking skills, engaging audiences with hands on learning and place-based teaching techniques, and supporting our new School Group Program. This position can be for school credit or can be a paid internship.

  • Support the Education Team with Pop-Up Engagements, Bunny Book Group, and other public programs.
  • Monitor the indoor basketball court, including maintaining and setting up equipment for drop-in half-court basketball, badminton, and other family-friendly games. Facilitate open-ended child-directed play in the Imagination Playground to ensure safety.
  • Assist in the set up and clean-up of the daily programming, starting and ending each program on time in the proper location, and communicating any necessary changes in schedule to the supervisor on duty in a timely manner during regular Operational hours.
  • Organize and maintain the live demonstration materials.
  • Manage and communicate the need for inventory to the Manager.
  • Partner with the Events & Visitor Experience Team in various visitor experience capacities to extend hospitality to guests at public and private events at Grace Farms including, but not limited to: greeting, registration check-in, wayfinding, and providing necessary information to guests to ensure a welcoming and meaningful event and experience for all.

Fulbright Access & Diversity Research, Thomas S. Johnson Intern Institute of International Education

The Institute of International Education (IIE) is seeking a current student for a summer Thomas S. Johnson internship opportunity. The internships, established in honor of Thomas S. Johnson, Chairman Emeritus of IIE’s Board of Trustees, are designed to expose students to the day-to-day operations of a leading international education and exchange not-for-profit that values diversity equity and inclusion. IIE internships allow students to gain insight into the field of international education, learn about career opportunities and establish a network. IIE’s Fulbright Team is seeking an intern to assist with two projects to further access and encourage diversity in participants academic programming as well as in participants enrichment opportunities. This will include surveying and cataloging disability services at U.S. universities, and researching and proposing diverse enrichment locations and subject matter for Fulbrighters in the U.S.

  • Working with our Placement Team, the intern will identify academic institutions that have been particularly supportive of international students with disabilities

Environmental Education Intern Program

Position Description: The Department of Environmental Conservation’s education centers offer internships to individuals who are interested in pursuing professional experience in environmental education. Internships run for at least 10 weeks and are held year-round. This internship is open to individuals with a minimum of two years of college-level study or equivalent experience and able to work in the United States. Valid driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Completing an intern training
  • Planning and leading a variety of environmental activities for a wide variety of audiences including: pre-school, elementary school, middle school, high school, youth groups, special needs groups, general public
  • Write newsletter or newspaper articles on natural history or environmental topics
  • Attend educator training workshops and assist staff in conducting workshops
  • Attend staff nature study training sessions
  • Complete a visual impressions report of grounds, trails, and exhibits
  • Interview each staff member for practice interviewing and to learn about each staff member’s job
  • Care for live animals
  • Check trails and exhibits, update program announcements
  • Visit other environmental education centers
  • Assist staff in planning seasonal general public programs
  • Perform other duties as assigned by environmental education center staff
