Applied Exercise Minor (DNS undergraduates only)

  • The Applied Exercise Minor is completed through Ithaca College’s Department of Exercise and Sport Sciences in the School of Health Sciences and Health Performance. The minor is helpful for students seeking positions in nutrition and physical fitness, or pursuing careers in sports medicine and related fields. Program completion is also good preparation for the examination for Fitness Instructor Certification by the American College of Sports Medicine.

Fiber Science Minor (except FSAD majors)

  • The Fiber Science Minor provides students with the opportunity to explore the physical, chemical, and engineering properties of fibrous materials and their applications, including biomedical materials, advanced engineering composites, geotextiles, and protective clothing, as well as the more traditional applications found in apparel and interiors.

Gerontology Minor

  • The undergraduate gerontology minor program provides students with the opportunity to become involved in a rapidly growing multidisciplinary field. It encourages an experiential learning opportunity to allow students to apply substantive content presented in the classroom to work in the world beyond the university, and also offers opportunities to become involved in research projects with faculty in the Bronfenbrenner Center and throughout the University.

  • The Global Health minor is intended to complement any academic major offered at the University and to provide students with basic knowledge about global health as well as the necessary skills and experience to begin to build their own unique global health career. Policy Analysis and Management Minor

Nutrition and Health Minor (non-DNS undergraduates only)

  • The Nutrition and Health minor provides students with basic knowledge of global perspectives on human health, public health and nutrition, food quality and food service management, human health and nutrition, nutritional biochemistry and psychological and social influences on human nutrition. Given a holistic curriculum, students are able to understand the relationships between nutrition and health on both the macro and the micro levels.

Design and Environmental Analysis Minor (except DEA majors)

  • The Design and Environmental Analysis Minor allows students to explore innovative design thinking and insightful research strategies to understand and design for built environments. Healthy Futures

  • The Healthy Futures Minor is a multidisciplinary option for students who are interested in hospitality, healthy design, and health policy.
