Assistant Professor of Operations Management
Dr. Kejia Hu is an Assistant Professor of Operations Management at the Owen Graduate School of Management at Vanderbilt University. Her research mainly focuses on empirical operations management on service operations and supply chain management. Particularly, she studies how to utilize massive and complex dataset to acquire insights ranging from business operations to customers’ behavior and further bring positive changes to the marketplaces such as call centers, healthcare, global sourcing and even public sectors’ policymaking.
Dr. Hu holds a Ph.D. degree in Operations Management from Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, M.Sc. in Statistics from the University of California, Davis, and a B.Sc. of Statistics from School of Management from Fudan University, China. Dr. Hu is an active member of Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences, Manufacturing & Service Operations Management Society and Production and Operations Management Society. Dr. Hu’s research has published in leading journals such as Manufacturing & Service Operations Management, Energy Policy, and Applied Energy. Her case study about Jointown Pharmaceutical Group Co Ltd is awarded as the National Top 100 MBA Case Studies in China in 2011.
