Philippa (Pippa) Hunter-Jones, PhD, is a Reader in Marketing in the University of Liverpool Management School, UK. She began her career studying Hospitality Management and Related Services, working in both different hospitality contexts and volunteering within healthcare environments too. She completed her PhD with a specialist cancer hospital and from this has developed multiple strands of research linked to the patient experience, service systems and service (re)design. She collaborates with both academics and practitioners on projects linked to primary care, acute care, care homes and end-of-life health contexts. This work includes both physical and mental health and wellbeing. Alongside this, she has a wider interest in the consumer behaviour of vulnerable, marginalised, stigmatized and hidden consumers and in exploring the circumstances of those who travel with pre-existing health conditions.
She is an elected Governor at Alder Hey Children’s NHS Trust Hospital, UK, and a member of the editorial boards for the Journal of Vacation Marketing and Journal of Destination Marketing and Management. She is published in a range of journals including Journal of Business Research, International Journal of Management Reviews, Journal of Marketing Management, Journal of Marketing Education, Annals of Tourism Research, Tourism Management, International Journal of Tourism Research, Journal of Travel Medicine and Annals of Leisure Research
