Utilizing my prior experience in designing and developing real-time Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software solutions for use in emergency management applications, I now apply these skills toward advancing high throughput plant phenotyping techniques. I am accomplishing this by using remote sensing technologies such as automated, small unmanned aircraft systems (sUAS) equipped with sensors, developing mobile application field tools, and building devices comprised of low cost/high availability sensors and components for developing nations. I then store and share these large data-sets using custom built or existing database systems and APIs. I am interested in minimizing the time and acquisition costs involved in plant phenotyping and devising the systems required to manage the resulting increase of data.
