2012 Vegetable Variety Trial

2013 VVT | Citizen Science – Vegetable Variety for Gardeners

One of the things we are doing this season to promote our resources and collaborate statewide is a vegetable variety and ecological gardening demo, encouraging others to rate varieties and use the website at http://vegvariety.cce.cornell.edu.

What this essentially entails is planting vegetable varieties in a 15′x 15′ public place along with demonstration of features of an ecological garden (cover crops, companion planting, mulching, attracting beneficials, etc).

The project will begin in mid-March, when staff will work on setting up beds planting some seeds (peas) outdoors and inside.  We plan to continue this effort in future years, using the same space and changing the varieties up.
