Board of Trustees: Demographics
Based on undergraduate class years, the average age of our current Board of Trustee members who are Cornellians is approximately 57 years old. The oldest alumni class year is 1959; the youngest alumni class year is 2007, and that person has a graduate degree. The youngest undergraduate class year is 1991.
Here’s how the class years of the 51 Trustees who are undergraduate alumni break out:
- 1 is from the classes of the 1950’s
- 11 are from classes of the 1960’s
- 26 are from classes of the 1970’s
- 12 are from classes of the 1980’s
- 1 is from the classes of the 1990’s
68% of all Trustees are male and 32% are female. Of the current alumni-elected trustees, 5 of the 8 (62%) are female.
35 Trustees have self-reported their ethnicity, and of those, 9 are Black or African American, 2 are Hispanic/Latino and 1 is Asian.

50 alumni Trustees have undergraduate degrees; 5 have graduate degrees only. Of those 50, 10 also have graduate degrees from Cornell.
We also have 2 Cornell Parents (i.e. non-alumni who have Cornellian children).
