PROPOSED USE OF CLINICAL PROFESSOR TITLE BY
JOHNSON GRADUATE SCHOOL OF MANAGEMENT
SEPTEMBER 14, 2011

• Peer schools have increasingly used the Clinical Professor titles, with very few peer schools lacking any ‘professorial’ title for non‐tenure track faculty.
• Title issues are an increasingly important issue in the recruitment and retention of non‐tenure track faculty.
• Clinical Professors will have substantive teaching and related responsibilities (career advising, project supervision, program development).
• Requirements include significant high‐level teaching or business experience; terminal degree or substantial senior business experience (CEO, CFO, MD at major firm); external visibility and impact.
