This Week on Capitol Hill: July 11-15, 2011

While debt ceiling talks linger, the House was plugging away at appropriations bills. The full Appropriations Committee reported out the FY 12 Commerce, Science and Justice (CJS), and Interior & Environment (I&E) spending bills. Links to bill reports can be found here:

NASA Space Grant- $26.700 million

James Webb Space Telescope (JWST)- defunded

NEH- $135 million

USGS- $1,054 billion; WRRA/WRI increased $2,090,000 over FY 11 final funding level for a total of $6.5 million.

Fish and Wildlife- $1,189 billion

The full House passed the Energy & Water FY12 spending bill, with Rep. Adam Schiff from California offering a successful amendment to restore $80 million to the Advanced Research Projects Agengy (ARPA-E) funding, bringing it back to its FY 11 level.

The Senate is still waiting to on the debt ceiling decision before making any move on spending bills.
