Next Month This Time!
I cannot wait to arrive in Argentina! I have already begun to pack for Argentina by trying to fit all of my necessities (clothes, shoes and keepsakes) into a 30″ suitcase and I feel as though I do not have enough space. There is so much to do before I leave such as doctor’s appointments, finalization of study abroad classes, housing and saying adios to my friends and family one last time.
My favorite part of preparing to go abroad is learning all I can about Argentina. I have been exploring websites, reading news articles, and watching movies in Spanish. Luckily, I have a Peruvian friend who is very familiar about Latin American and Argentinean culture and he has been filling me in with all the do’s and don’ts. His advice does not come without cost however; in return I must bring him a Boca Juniors Jersey.
I must admit that I am a little nervous about meeting the Argentineans and participating in a study abroad program of another school. Although, I do believe that new places, new people and new school can will definitely make this a unique and exciting experience for me. I will meet one of the students participating in my program for the first time in my ten-hour flight to BA. This should definitely be interesting.
I am undoubtedly enjoying my extended winter break and all the preparation for my Argentinean experience. The only thing getting me through the harsh upstate NY winter is that next month this time I will be in Buenos Aires! Que Suerte!!
