Arvid joined the Clark lab in October 2015 after completing a PhD with Stephen Wright at the University of Toronto. During his PhD, he worked on transposable element evolution in selfing and outcrossing plant species. Currently, he studies conflict and co-adaptation between sex chromosomes and mitochondrial genes in Drosophila melanogaster. He is broadly interested in genetic conflicts, genome size variation, and the major transitions.
