Emily joined the Clark lab in December 2014 after completing a PhD with Yoav Gilad at the University of Chicago. There, she worked on examining the role of diet and human genetics in determining gut microbiome composition in a isolated, communal-living population: the Hutterites. Currently, she continues to explore host-microbiome interaction, including how host genetics, the microbiome, and disease are related.
