Bed Bugs are in New York City and have everyone’s attention.  While not disease carrying critters, they do provide a special “ick” factor that has local residents and business owners concerned.  Cornell’s own bed bug expert, entomologist Jody Gangloff-Kaufmann provided insight and suggestions to NYC journalists at yesterday’s Inside Cornell Media Luncheon.  Gangloff-Kaufmann Ph.D ’99 is faculty with Cornell’s Integrated Pest Management Program and has never been so busy!  While bed bugs have always existed, 2010 has been a banner year for the blood sucking critters in NYC.  Gangloff-Kaufmann offered many tips and tricks for infestation prevention.  She was joined in her presentation, by three celebrity bed bugs, who incidentally are very visible to the naked eye.
