In a ceremony on Monday night the “Circle Mirror Transformation” cast was given an award as an ensemble in the Obies performance category. Sam Gold ’00, who directed the play for Playwrights Horizons, also won an Obie as director of “Circle Mirror Transformation” and “The Aliens,” a play by Ms. Baker that is being presented by Rattlestick Playwrights Theater.
“The Aliens,” about a group of young men who gather outside a coffeehouse, and “Circle Mirror Transformation” were both named best new American play by the Obies.
