Mentor: Kyle Lancaster

Education:

B.S. Chemistry, University of Florida, 2012

Awards:

3rd Place in HHMI CASE Poster Competition. HHMI Undergraduate Research Award. Florida State

Research Experience:

McElwee-White Lab. University of Florida. 01/2010-05/2012,
Lavis Lab. Janelia Farms Research Campus. 06/2011-08/2011

Current Research Activities:

My research project focuses on the enzyme ammonia monooxygenase (AMO). Through a combination of various spectroscopic methods, I will elucidate the mechanism by which AMO hydroxylates ammonia to hydroxylamine. In addition, I am synthesizing copper complexes modeled after the active site of AMO.
