Meet the Master Naturalists

Elizabeth Reid
Congratulations Elizabeth for completing the training and service hours to become a Master Naturalist! Elizabeth volunteers with the Rensselaer Land Trust, walking the land with property owners who are considering a conservation easement and monitoring those easements once in place, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission where she has helped to conduct bird and tree surveys, and helping with an Envirothon for high school students.

Tim Matthews
Congratulations to Tim for becoming a Level 1 & 2 “Master Naturalist.” Tim completed 68 hrs of training and contributed 63 hrs of volunteer time as an active member of the Pennsylvania Amphibian and Reptile Survey, conducting bat surveys annually, volunteering for the Edward L Rose Conservancy, and participating in a 3-day volunteer project focusing on the Catskill Creek Watershed!

The Master Naturalist Program is a high-quality, science-based training program designed to teach adults about New York’s natural resources, empowering them to educate others and participate in on-the-ground conservation management projects.

Master Naturalist Volunteers Participate in Climate and Stream Resiliency Engaged Learning Weekend

Kristi Sullivan led a group of Master Naturalist volunteers from across the state on a 3-day, engaged learning trip to   the northern Catskills. The goal of the event was to engage volunteers in a meaningful, climate -focused project that would improve climate change awareness and response. Learn about the trip here.
