What is Adobe Connect ?

Adobe Connect (formerly Macromedia Breeze) is a web conferencing and data collaboration tool. It provides you with a virtual meeting  space for sharing your presentations, images, and desktop applications with remote participants. You can also take advantage of features like a digital whiteboard, text chat, polling, and audio/video broadcasting. To attend your web meeting, your participants need only a Web browser with the Flash plugin (almost all computers have this already) and (ideally)  a broadband Internet connection

Why might I use Adobe Connect ?

  • To deliver online presentations to remote participants
  • To invite remote guest speakers to present and collaborate
  • To collaborate with remote partners without having to travel (cost savings)
  • To provide remote desktop support and training

What you’ll need to participate in Connect meetings:

If you will be participating in a Connect meeting there are some minimum hardware and software requirements. This page will help test and evaluate your current computer setup:(link to hardware requirements/test page)

If you will be hosting Connect meetings the same minimum requirements apply (link here) as well as some additional hardware and software you may want to have….You will also need a host account on our server (see below)

How can I get a host account?

A host account allows you to set up and conduct meetings using the CCE Connect System. To obtain a Connect host account please contact the CCE IT Helpdesk and place your request there.

Scheduling your Connect meetings

We now have an Oracle Calendar account for our Connect meeting server. We strongly engourage you to add your meetings to the calendar. This will help us avoid conflicts that might lead to overbooking the service.

To use the calendar open your Oracle calendar and then use CTRL-O to open an account, enter cce and click OK, you will find the Connect calendar entry. Enter your meeting title and anticipated numer of attendees.

Learning more about using Connect

The content of this site should help you get started using Adobe Connect, but there is always more to learn. In the near future we will be setting up a system for you to use to share what you’ve learned about using Connect. The more we share our experiences, and knowledge the more useful the system, and our documentation,  becomes .
