Dealing with Drought

According to the USDA Drought Monitor found at http://droughtmonitor.unl.edu the Finger Lakes region of New York is under a short term (less than 6 months and generally effects agriculture and grasslands) moderate drought as of July 7, 2016.  This really should not come as much of surprise if you have walked on any unwatered lawns recently.

Cornell Cooperative Extension of Cayuga County has posted below 6 drought related fact sheets that may be of interest.  These fact sheets offer water conservation tips as well as wise watering for gardens and lawns and tips for managing a well during drought.  For those unable to access the website please call 315-255-1183 and leave a message in the general message center which includes your name and address and which fact sheets you are requesting.

Hard copies are also available Monday through Friday between 8 am and 4 pm at the CCE Cayuga County Education Center located at 248 Grant Avenue Road, Auburn.
