Question: Would it be possible to get a CCE license for the Athena server, which serves up statistics software via remote desktop to registered users?

Answer: We asked the folks at CISER (The Cornell Institute for Social and Economic Research) for an answer, as they oversee such things here at Cornell.  The following response comes from Janet Heslop, IT Associate Director at CISER:

“CISER provides computing support for social science research at Cornell University.  The CISER IT staff manage a full range of computational technology to facilitate access to machine-readable data resources and statistical analysis software.  In addition, CISER offers data services, on-line computing help, and statistical application workshops and consulting.  The majority of these services are at no cost, however, use of the CISER compute nodes may  have associated fees.  Please refer to http://ciser.cornell.edu/computing/CISERBillingFrequentlyAskedQuestions.asp for further information pertaining to the fee structure. ”
