The “best of both worlds” in sociological research

Catherwood and Cornell now have access to the “best of both worlds” in terms of sociological research.

SocINDEX with Full Text and Sociological Abstracts are the two top indexes to the literature of sociology. Try both for searches in organizational behavior; industrial sociology; diversity in the workplace; occupational roles; unemployment; leadership; conflict resolution; and so much more.

SocINDEX with Full Text is made up of nearly two million records covering 5000 journals, and it is updated weekly. Full text is provided for more than 400 journals dating back to 1908, as well as over 700 books, with the full text of nearly 7000 conference papers. The file also includes 10,000-plus author profiles for the most cited/searched authors, a nearly 20,000-term thesaurus, and abstracts for about 900 journals dating back to 1895. Searchable cited references are available for some titles selectively.

Sociological Abstracts provides abstracts of journal articles and citations to book reviews drawn from over 1,800+ serials publications, and also provides abstracts of books, book chapters, dissertations, and conference papers. Records published by Sociological Abstracts in print during the database’s first 11 years, 1952-1962 have been added to the database, extending the depth of the backfile. It also includes searchable cited reference for some titles.
