Summer 2006!

Hello everyone, & welcome to my blog! I only hope it’s not too too boring, and that whoever you are, you may learn a little about what it’s like to be a Cornellian today.

To fill you in a little bit: I’m a junior in the College of Arts and Sciences, majoring in Biology –Neurobiolgy and Behavior particularly. I hail from down south in Florida, but I lived in New Jersey for a long time, hence me not minding the Ithaca weather too much D

I am currently spending the summer in Colorado, doing research in animal behavior, and if I may admit this without sounding too dorky, I am enjoying myself a lot.  Here are all the cool things I’ve gotten a chance to do this summer:

  1. study how ants find their way home (yeah, you heard me, cool!)
  2. visited Boulder, a whole lot!
  3. visited the Denver zoo
  4. seen “The Tempest” at an outdoor Shakespeare festival
  5. been getting up at 6:30AM (believe me, that’s a super achievement!)
  6. visited the Denver aquarium
  7. eaten thai, nepali, and ethiopian food
  8. coerced not just 1 but 2 people into visiting me ; )
  9. lived in a “rustic” cabin in the middle of nowhere
  10. gone on several 8+ mile long hikes, inlcuding in Rocky National Park
  11. seen pikas, marmots (one tried to eat my shoelace!), coyotes, foxes, elk and deer everywhere
  12. cooked dinner without running water
  13. met tons of cool science dorks

As you can see, pretty good so far…
