Biotechnology Resource Center (BRC) – Flow Cytometry Facility
This site contains technical and educational resources for users of the Cornell BRC Flow Cytometry Facility and the Flow Cytometry community at large.
It complements the Cornell Institute of Biotechnology’s website, which hosts less technical information such as pricing, staff, instrumentation, services, and policies, as well as an overview of our Flow Cytometry Core Facility.
The Flow Cytometry Facility of Cornell Institute of Biotechnology Resource Center (BRC) is the result of a faculty-led initiative across several colleges on campus. Generous financial support for the facility was provided by the offices of Provost Mike Kotlikoff and Vice Provost for Research Emmanuel Giannelis, as well as the Colleges of Veterinary medicine, Engineering, Human Ecology, Agriculture, Life Sciences, and Arts and Sciences.
The facility provides cost-effective access to advanced flow cytometry and sorting instrumentation to all investigators. It operates a wide range of equipment and employs four dedicated staff members providing services, including hands-on training on multiple instruments.
The services provided are:
- Hands-on training in the use of all analyzers and sorters.
- Consultation on experimental design and data interpretation.
- Cell or particle high-speed sorting.
- Biosafety level 2 (BSL2) sorting with enhanced aerosol containment.
- Provide assistance in data acquisition and analysis.
- Efficient data storage and archiving.
- LIMS online booking and billing system.
