Get paid to learn! – Methane digestion in NNY

Hi Folks,

The Clarkson team that runs the small farm methane digester at the Extension Learning Farm are looking for feedback. They have scheduled 3 meetings to talk to the public about it. They are inviting dairies, livestock producers and horticulture producers to attend and watch a presentation and then talk about it and answer some survey questions at the meeting. They will even pay you to attend and then provide a meal! ($25.00 for you if you are in county and more for those traveling further).

The title of the workshop is “Workshops Exploring Anaerobic Digester Technology on Small Farms”. The possible dates are:

December 5th from 10 am to 2:00 pm
February 7th from 10 am to 2:00 pm
March 6th from 6 pm to 9 pm.

These workshops are for anyone interested in alternative energy production. There are some economic benefits like using the gas produced as a heat source or even to power a generator. A digester owner could also take in food waste or manure for a fee and reap the benefits of the gas production, too.

If you have questions, please contact Bill Bullock at wrb93@cornell.edu or Nick Hamilton-Honey at nh327@cornell.edu

To register on-line go to http://stlawrence.cce.cornell.edu or call the office at 315-379-9192 Ext 237

Help out these researchers. They are looking for farmer feedback! Have a nice lunch! Get paid to attend! I will try to resend this before the February and March meetings as well if you can ‘t make the December meeting.
