2-Day Clinic for Livestock Owners: Getting Started with Rotational Grazing

Class:  Friday, August 25 from 10 am – 4 pm
Cornell Cooperative Extension of Ulster County
232 Plaza Road (Hannaford Plaza), Kingston, NY

Farm Visit:  Sat., August 26 from 12pm –  2pm
(specific farm location will be sent after registration)

Are you a livestock owner who wants to increase your profits and improve the health of your animals?  Rotational grazing can help your farm!  Learn more at a 2-day hands-on clinic consisting of a class on Friday, August 25 followed by a farm visit on Saturday, August 26.

Jason Detzel, CCE Ulster County Extension Educator, will provide you with practical skills to implement a rotational grazing plan on your property.  Using these techniques you can:
•    lower feed costs
•    improve your pastures
•    decrease farm labor
•    produce healthier animals.

We’ll go over the advantages of rotational versus continuous grazing, calving and breeding considerations, water/forage management, planning a system for your property and more.

Registration:  $20/person or only $10 for Ag Program enrollees, which covers both days of the clinic.  The farm visit on Saturday is encouraged but optional, and you must attend the classroom portion on August 25 to attend the farm visit.
