Using the techniques and insight that I gained in the “Pondering Portraits” section of the assignment, I produced several more portraits of the same subject. This series succeeded in capturing his darkness and his vulnerability, but unexpectedly, mine as well. I looked at the photos, wondering whose “essence” I had, in fact, concretized. I did not find an answer, only more complicated questions.
