Every time I run the trail along six mile creek, I have to stop when I come to this exact spot. Standing atop a hill, or what some might consider a cliff, you experience a sense of calm as you look out. Light in the picture is found in the bright sky, but also varying shades of green add dark tones as well. The picture manages to capture the beauty of nature that I see every time I run this trail.
In a dark room, where no light could come in, the only thing that provided any light were the strings on a guitar. The image embodies what music means to me. Music can be seen as an alternate medium of expression that provides light and clarity to so many people.
Sometimes in life you just happen upon certain things, and for me this was one of those things. When you look at the image, it is a mystery as to what the subject is, which I found very appealing. the contrast in the picture comes from the subject’s ability to let some, but not all, light pass through it. The subject almost acted as a filter for the camera.
