The Tata-Cornell Agriculture and Nutrition Initiative is a long term program established through a $25 million endowment from the Tata Trusts, chaired by Ratan Tata, Chairman emeritus of Tata Sons. This research, development and education program links agriculture, food systems and human nutrition, including the impacts of economic policies on poverty and nutritional status. The program conducts action research focused on agricultural pathways out of poverty and malnutrition in rural India. The Tata initiative promotes multi-disciplinary collaboration between Indian Universities, governmental and non-governmental organizations and Cornell faculty and students.
