Regional Promotional Project for Growers of Fruits, Vegetables, Horticulture, Nursery and Floriculture Crops in the Capital Region

Cornell Cooperative Extension of Rensselaer County is in the process of enrolling participants in the Capital Region Specialty Crop Promotional Project. CCE and Rensselaer County Economic Development are collaborating with Spiral Design Studio to develop a regional website and social media platform. The website will enable consumers to locate specialty crop products grown in the Capital Region on their smart phones, tablets or laptops. The mobile friendly technology will allow specialty crop producers to link their websites and social media sites to a Search Engine Optimized site, thereby providing greater online visibility for participating farms.

We are looking forward to working with Spiral Design on the website and social media promotion. Spiral Design has worked on some amazing projects in the Capital Region including the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall, The Albany Symphony, The Epicurean and NY Farm Bureau. Check out their portfolio at spiraldesign.com.

The great news is that there is no cost to participate!! Rensselaer County was fortunate to receive funding through the USDA Specialty Crop Block Grant Program for the project. If you’re interested in participating, please contact Donna at (518) 270-2668 or Sarah at (518) 272-4210 or email us at dmurray@rensco.com (Donna) or sem285@cornell.edu (Sarah).
