Exercise on Metaphors

Exercise: Make a list of objects that are important to you. Then, choose one and create a list of metaphors equating the object to another. The metaphors don’t have to make sense

Objects:

  • My car
  • My giant starbucks mug
  • My blue fleece
  • My potted plant, Theodora (yes, I named my plant)
  • My voice recorder
  • My winter jacket

My Car:

  • My car is a blujay
  • My car is a jem
  • My car is an easter basket
  • My car is a campground for disaster
  • My car is a waterbeatle
  • My car is a meercat without ADD
  • My car is a penguin waiting for winter
  • My car is a polar bear searching for ice
  • My car is a viking winking at you from behind his sheild
  • My car is a tadpole who’s grown out of his tail
