With the early decision deadline approaching, our phones and email inboxes have been very busy! Before you call or email, take a look and see if the answer to your question is here:

Q. What is the mailing address for First Year applicants to submit recommendations?

A. Cornell University, Application Processing Center, 349 Pine Tree Rd, Ithaca, NY 14850.

Q. Has Cornell received my teacher evaluation and/or letter of recommendation?

A. Letters of recommendation will not appear when you check your application status and we do not track the names of the individuals who submit evaluations for applicants. We will notify you in mid-November if we have not received two letters of recommendation and will provide you with an opportunity to submit them.

Teacher evaluations/recommendations can be submitted online via the Common Application site, or you can have your teacher write you a recommendation on school letterhead as long as he/she includes your full name, address, and date of birth. You do not need to submit the recommendations on specific forms.

Q. I am applying ED and scheduled to take the SAT or ACT (with writing) or SAT Subject Tests in November. I have noted that on my application. Will the admissions committee know my test scores are coming and wait to review my application?

Q. Where can I send my art supplement?

A. There are a number of supplemental forms that accompany the online Common Application, including an Arts Supplement, an Athletic Supplement, and a Supplement for International Students. These forms are not accepted by Cornell University, and we do not recommend that you submit these additional forms with your Cornell materials.

If you are applying to a program at Cornell that requires a portfolio, you should contact the appropriate undergraduate college or school to learn more about portfolio requirements.

  1. Hello. I logged on to the common app a few days ago to make sure everything was submitted properly and I realized to my complete horror that I hadn’t submitted the common app portion of the application. I had submitted the supplement, school forms, and payment section by the deadline. Is there anything I can do? The common app won’t let me submit it now because it is passed the application deadline!
