Dear Adapt-N User Group:

A couple of tips:

  1. Many of you have started to use the daily alert feature for Adapt-N and the feedback has been very positive. It provides daily updates by email or text message on any selected fields in your account. We run automatic daily simulations and send you the results. To sign up for this feature, go to the Alert Settings tab in Adapt-N. Note: You can have the daily alert email from your account sent to multiple email addresses or phone numbers, but you can’t do it through the Adapt-N interface yet. But you can let us know the account name and all email addresses that should receive the alerts, and we will make the arrangements for you (email Bianca at bnm5@cornell.edu).
  2. We also want to remind you that the weather data that feed the Adapt-N tool are always two days behind (one day starting next year). Also, when heavy precipitation occurs, the leaching and denitrification processes occur over the course of the next two to three days. Therefore, when you receive a lot of rainfall at a particular site, it will take 4 to 5 days before you can evaluate the full impact on the N recommendation (about the same time it takes for most fields to dry out). It is important to remember that you will not see radical changes in N recommendations immediately after a heavy rain event.
