Action Research Institute was held on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at the ILR Conference Center, King-Shaw Hall.   It was the first time to bring together various Extension Associations and community based organizations with Cornell faculty and staff members that are interested in Action Research.

Morning session focused on explaining the research-action cycle of AR, its core concepts, and how this approach differs from traditional social research.  We will discuss examples of projects of various types.  Then attendees will bring up ongoing projects and see how AR can be built into these.
Afternoon session focused on building networks, both among and with stakeholders, and between Cornell Cooperative Extension and campus based parties- faculty, staff, and students.  Group work will help develop those networks based on existing grant programs and topics of broad interest, such as natural gas development, energy conservation and childhood obesity.
