As the creator of the microlecture (Shieh, 2009), I still like the idea of combining images (slides) with audio (mp3) to make 60 second presentations. PowerPoint provides a great workspace for creating these presentations, where a single image can represent the introduction, individual slides can contain images or terms to represent the topics, and another image for the conclusion. There are multiple tools (free/cost) for exporting PPT to Video for multiple delivery formats (Android/iPhone/iPod/iPad)

I'd add Snagit 11 to the screencasting options since it now allows unlimited length screen recordings (including both microphone and system audio) and easy share options (Screencast.com, YouTube, Dropbox, Google Drive, etc).
